When Crabtree and Thomas\'s wife Margaret Brackenreid enter an acerbic cooking contest, the is inspector abuses his power to inspire George to let her win. As a judge contracts botulism after eating tainted meat, Murdoch must investigate his probable intentional poisoned, while Julia and Violet work out the rare toxin. Crabtree fears for his life when it emerges that both he and Margaret Brackenreid have also eaten the suspect meat, the team looks into other contestants, including French chef and favorite Henri Prideaux.
