Anestis (Anestos or Artemis) Delias was born in Smyrna 1912. He was the only rembete to become involved with heroine. His girlfriend Katerina alias Koula the Earring was a prostitute and heroine addict.

Togehter with Markos Vamvarkaris, Giorgos Batis and Stratos Payioumtzis he made up the legendary Rembetiko Quartet of Piraeus "Η τετράς η ξακουστή του Πειραιώς" (I Tetras i Xakousti tou Peiraios).

Delias was one of the greatest ghetto musicians after the greek-turkish war in 1922.

In the winter of 1944, Delias (32 years old) was found dead in the street outside the teke Seraphim in Metaxourgio of a heroine overdose, clutching his bouzouki.
